“Congratulations DA”

https://wordpress.com/
“CONGRATULATIONS DA”!!! On An Absolutely Successful Election. We’ve Done Exceedingly Well. Three Out Of The 4 Metros In Gauteng Are Now DA Controlled, There’s No Doubt Gauteng Province Has Swung DA. But Now The Party Is Over And It’s Time To Govern Well.
To Quote… “And so I say to my DA colleagues in the 33 governments we now lead:
Let us never arrogantly claim that we have a divine right to rule, or that we will “govern until Jesus comes back”.
Let us govern with grace and humility.
Let us listen to the people who put us in power.
Let us do our best, at all times, for all the citizens of this country.
Let us never take the voters for granted.”
– Mmusi Maimani.

GET OUT AND VOTE SOUTH AFRICA

“THE ANC IS ON THE SLIDE – NOW GET OUT AND VOTE SOUTH AFRICA”!!!

If Ever There Is A Need To Vote Then That Day Is Fast Arriving On
August 3rd 2016.

This Is The Day When You The Voter Can Bring This Corrupt Thieving Greedy, Arrogant But Useless ANC Party Down To Earth With A Bang.

If Ever The ANC Is Overdue For A Bloody Nose The Time Is Now, And You The Voter Can Make It Happen.

Despite All The ANC’s Spin, The Statistics Show That The ANC Stands To Lose Tshwane “Pretoria”, Nelson Mandela Bay “Port Elizabeth” To The DA, And, Possibly East London.

The Stats Show Further That, The ANC Will Not Get A Majority In Johannesburg And Hence Stand To Lose Control Of Johannesburg. Things Look Interesting In Thlokwe “Rustenburg” For Round Number Two As Maybe The Momentum Spills Over In The North West Province.

The DA Will Retain Cape Town Metro And Mid – Vaal.

So If Ever There Is An Opportunity For Us The Tax Paying Voter To Be Heard. Then Now Is The Time.

So Get Out Vote On August 3rd 2016.

ANOTHER 25.3% TARRIFF HIKE? TAKE A FLYING LEAP ESKOM!!!

NERSA should tell Eskom that enough is enough

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has today argued against the proposed 25.3% tariff increase being sought by Eskom from the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).

NERSA has a responsibility as the independent energy regulator to send a clear message to Eskom that enough is enough. Eskom cannot continue to rely on state bailouts and exorbitant tariff increases to fund its continued mismanagement.

XENOPHOBIA IN SOUTH AFRICA!!!

As True And Real As This Anger Is Here In South Africa May Well Be.

Why’s This Anger Being Taken Out On A Vulnerable Minority Who Are Not Responsible For The Lot Of The Majority Nor For The Mismanagement Of The Resources That Belong To South Africa And It’s People. They’ve Not Missused South Africa’s Tax Money?

The Resources That Has Been Waisted On Nkandla, And Waisted Elsewhere, Instead Of Being Used To Maintain And Upgrade Our Services And Improve The Wellbeing Of All South Africans And All Who Live Within It’s Borders.

xenophobia, wordsout

Why’s This Anger Not Directed To Where It Should Go?

Why’s This Anger Not Directed At Or Vented At The ANC The Government? After All They Show About As Much Contempt For Their People / Voters Who Voted Them In?… Just A Thought.

Why Was This Anger Not Taken Out On The ANC Government? This Is Their Responsibility And They’re To Blame. So Why Was This Anger Not Taken Out On The Ruling Government On Election Day Last Year?

HELEN ZILLE CALLS IT A DAY AS DA LEADER.

On Sunday Afternoon April 12th 2015 Democratic Alliance (DA) Leader Helen Zille
Announced That She Will Not Be Making Herself Available For Nomination Or Re
Election As Leader Of The DA, At The National / Federal Convetion To Be Held In
May 2015.

Helen Zille Has Lead The DA For Approximately 8 Years. During Which
The DA Has Seen It's Voter Following Grow During Every Election Under Her
Leadership.

During Her Leadership The DA And The Independent Democrats Lead By
Patricia De Lille Merged. This Proved To Be Very Popular.

Under Her Leadership
She Has Expanded The DA Voter Following To Approximately 22% Of The Electorate
Making The DA Decidedly The Biggest Opposition.

During Her Leadership She Also
Held The Office Of Mayor In Cape Town.

This Post Eventually Has Been Handed
Over To Deputy Leader Of The DA Patricia De Lille.

Currently Hellen Zille Is
The Incumbent Premier Of The Western Cape. It's Also Under Her Watch That She
Has Made Sure That The Western Cape Has Remained Decidedly DA And Out Of The
African National Congress' (ANC) Control, Despite The ANC's Attempts To Make The
Western Cape Ungovernable, A Strategy Which Has Largely Backfired On The ANC.

Helen Zille Was Actively Anti - Apartheid Prior To Her Political Career Within
The DA. But Since Her Leadership Within And Of The DA Has Been Defined As One Of
Defending And Entrenching South Africa's Constitution Which Is The Backbone And
Key To Defining South Africa As A Liberal Constitutional Society Where All Are
Equal Under The Constitution And Before The Law. This Was Highlighted With Her
Tireless Determination To Have The Evidence With Regards To The Arms Deal
Scandal Which Was Classified Made Public. This Resulted In A Famous Court
Victory In Cape Town And The Court Ordered That The NPA Who Had Tried To Keep It
Buried, Hand The Evidence Over To The Attorneys Representing DA.

As Opposition
Leader She Has Done An Enormous Amount Of Good And Will Be Sorely Missed. We
Hope That She Will Not Be Totally Absent. But We Most Certainly Do Say Thank You
For All You've Done For The DA And For South Africa As Leader Of The DA. We Wish
You Well And Every Success For The Remainder Of Your Term As Premier Of The
Western Cape.

NIGERIA DECIDED 2015: NICE ONE YOU SHOWED THEM How IT’S DONE

On Saturday March 28th.2015, Nigeria Went To The Polls And Voted For A New
President In An Election Which Was By And Large Peaceful And, Which Hence Can Be
Determined As Successful.

Since It's Independence In 1960, This Oil Rich Northwest African Territory With An Atlantic Coastline And Which Has So Much Prospects, Has Battled To Establish Itself As A Liberal Constitutional Society. This Being That Since Independence, Nigeria HasBeen Plagued With Failed Republics And Military Regimes.

The Last Election In 2010 Which Saw The Incumbent Goodluck Johnathan Elected To Office, Although Free And Fair, Was Never The Less Marred By Violence Which Claimed Approximately 800 Lives. So Leading Up To This Election, Concerns About A Free, Fair AndPeaceful Election Were A Given.

Goodluck Johnathan. Incumbant President And Peoples Democratic Party Leader. (PDP)

Goodluck Johnathan. Incumbant President And Peoples Democratic Party Leader. (PDP)

Muhammad Buhari. Leader Of The Opposition All Progressives Congress. (APC). Leading Presidential Candidate Ahead Of The March 28th 2015 Presidential Election.

Muhammad Buhari. Leader Of The Opposition All Progressives Congress. (APC). Leading Presidential Candidate Ahead Of The March 28th 2015 Presidential Election.

What Made These Concerns All The More Real Was The Mood Within Nigeria. That Being The Growing Disillusionment With The Ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) GovernmentLead By Goodluck Johnathan And It's Inability To Address The Ever Growing Threat
Of The Radical Islamic Terrorist Group Boko-Harram, This Being One Of The
Reasons Among Others For Nigerian Disillusionment.

As A Result The Opposition All Progressives Congress(APC), Lead By Former Dictator Muhammadu Buhari Was Now The Popular Alternative. Muhammadu Buhari Was Also A
GeneralIn Nigeria's Military And This Appeared To Make Him The Confident Choice To
Deal With The Growing Threat Of Boko-Harram. That Among Other Issues As Well.

Now That It Appeared That The Buhari Lead ACP Was The Popular Choice To Win The 2015Election, These Real Concerns Began To Figure All The More, This Due To The Fact
That Africa Has A Record Of, And Is Known For It's Liberation Leaders, Their
Notorious Claim To And Their Vice Grip Hold Over Power. That Being, Once They're In Power They Are Reluctant To Relinquish It. Hence They Are Difficult To Remove From
Power. Even Defeat Through The Ballot Box Is No Guarantee That They Will Go Quietly,Certainly Not Without Some Sort Of Struggle Involving A Certain Deal Of Violence.
All Considered, These Concerns Were Real.

But:

In Answer To These Concerns Though, Goodluck Johnathan, Made It Clear That If The
Electorate Voted Him Out He Would Concede Defeat And Would Respect The Decision Of
Nigeria's People.

The 28th Of March 2015 Arrived, And The People Voted:

The Presidential Election Result Was
As Follows:

Candidates: Party: Popular Vote Percentage
Goodluck Johnathan / Namadi Sambo. (PDP) 12 853 162 43.67%

Muhammadu Buhari / Yemi Osinbajo. (APC) 15 424 921 52.41%

Nigerian Presidential Election Results Being Made Public.

Nigerian Presidential Election Results Being Made Public.

Goodluck Johnathan, True To His Word, Conceded Defeat. When It Was Apparent That
He'd Lost The Election, He Called Muhammadu Buhari To Congratulate Him On His
Victory At The Polls. Then He Conceded Defeat Publicly.

The Election Had Gone Down Well, It Was Called Free And Fair With Little To
No Violence Hence All Things Considered, Peaceful. All Things Concidered It Was A
Success.

Although Beaten In This Election, Goodluck Johnathan Had Emerged From It With A
Great Deal Of Respect And Admiration. Under His Leadership, Nigeria Had Raised The
Bar And Set The Standard Higher Concerning Free And Fair Elections, Moreover,
The Standard Had Been Raised In Africa As FarAs Liberal Constitutional Societies AreConcerned.

The Acid Test Of A Truly Liberal Society Is Not Simply Because The Popular Party Is In Power Irrespective Of Whether Or Not, That Party Happens To Be The Popular
Liberation Movement Of The Time. Even So, Just Because That Popular Liberation
Movement Happens To Be In Power, And Even If It Was Voted In, That Does Not Make AndNor Does It Mean That, That Particular Society Concerned Is Truly Liberated.
The Acid Test For A Truly Liberated Society Is When The Society Concerned Is Free
And Confident Enough To Vote Any Government Out Of Power In A Free And Fair
Election. Even IfThat Government Happens To Be, A Once Popular Liberation Movement.

Nice One Nigeria, You've Shown The World And You've Shown Africa That It Can Be
Done. Now It's Up To Africa And The World To Take Note.

Even So Nigeria Has Raised The Bar, And That's Good On You.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME BLACKCAPS

Congratulations On An Absolutely Awesome World Cup BlackCaps.

Yes Pity About The Final, Even So It’s No Shame To Have Lost The Final. What Is Important Though, Is That Another Milestone Has Been Achieved In BlackCaps Cricket. More Importantly, There Are A Great Deal Of Positives To Take Out Of This Enormously Successful Cricket World Cup 2015.

It Was No Accident That The BlackCaps Reached The Final In Melbourne. Nor Was It By Accident That On Route To The Final, They Topped The Pool A Standings. Perhaps The Only Negative I Can Find On Route To The Final, Was The Fact That The Only Match They Got To Play Away From Home Or On Foreign Turf Was The Final. Not That This Can Ever Placed At Their Doorstep, After All This Was How The Organisers Had It Set Up. Neither Can This Place Any Question Over Their Ability To Win…

FOND NOSTALGIA AT THE BASIN AS HUGE TEST WIN SEES BLACKCAPS START 2015 ON THE UP AFTER TAKING SERIES 2-0:

Basin Reserve, Wellington:

2nd Test, Final Day:

Aerial Veiw Of The Basin Basin Reserve Wellington.

Aerial Veiw Of The Basin Basin Reserve Wellington.

It’s Been A Marvelous 2014 For New Zealand Test Cricket, And, Especially So For The Faithful Fans At The Basin Reserve In Wellington.

The Basin As It’s Fondly Called, Has Been Prive To Some Incredible Cricket Which Has Seen Cricketing Milestones Being Achieved This Past Year 2014.

In The 2nd Test Against India Played At The Basin During February 2014, The Fans Saw Brendon McCullum Post A New, New Zealand Record Of 302 Runs On The Final Day. Even Though This Test Was Drawn, The Achievement Was None The Less Huge Because The Draw Sealed An Important 1-0 Series Win Over India.

In June And July 2014, There Was An Away Series Win For New Zealand In The West Indies. In November And December 2014, A Drawn Away Series With Pakistan In The United Arab Emirates.

Finally, The BlackCaps Returned Home To Christchurch For The Boxing Day Test Where, The Fans Would See New Zealand Achieve An Unprecedented 5th Test Victory In A Season Year As They Beat Sri Lanca By 8 Wickets To Take A 1-0 Series Lead To Wellington For The Showdown At The Basin

The Basin Would Not Disappoint.

On Saturday January 3rd 2015, After Sri Lanca Won The Toss And Chose To Field The Cricketing Public Were Treated To An Absolute Bowling Fest As The Pins Were Sent Flying. There Was A Standing Ovation For Brendan McCullum As The Fans Welcomed Him As He Walked To The Crease For His Knock. There Was An Air Of Anticipation Ahead Of His Innings, After All, His Last Stand At This Ground Delivered His Record 302. But His Stay Was Ever So Brief, Dismissed For A Duck As New Zealand Posted 221 In Their First Innings. The Bowlers Were Ruling Supreme And It All Seemed To Be Heading Pretty Positive From A Sri Lankan Perspective. But When One Say’s The Bowlers Ruled Supreme The New Zealand Bowlers Also Had A Bowl On Day One And They Weren’t Done Just Yet.

The BlackCaps Celebrating As They Sense Their Advantage On Day One Of The 2nd Test At The Basin Reserve - Wellington.

The BlackCaps Celebrating As They Sense Their Advantage On Day One Of The 2nd Test At The Basin Reserve – Wellington.

At Stumps On The First Day, 15 Wickets Had Fallen For Just 299 Runs. Day One Belonged To The Bowlers, In Particular The New Zealand Bowlers Who Had Taken 5 Wickets For Just 78 Runs At Stumps And With That Seized The Advantage For The BlackCaps Going Into Day 2.

Kumar Sangakkara Acknowleges The Crowd As He Achieves Another Milestone In His Career With Another Double Century 203, Moving To Within One Of Sir Donald Bradman's Record.

Kumar Sangakkara Acknowleges The Crowd As He Achieves Another Milestone In His Career With Another Double Century 203, Moving To Within One Of Sir Donald Bradman’s Record.

But Sri Lanca Were Not Done Just Yet. Kumar Sangakkara Hung Around At The Crease And Treated The Fans To A Sublime Batting Performance Chalking Up Another Double Century As He Moved Ever Closer To Just One Double Century Behind The Record Currently Held By Sir Donald Bradman. He Went On To Post 203 Runs Before Being Caught By Trent Boult Off The Bowling Of Neesham. Sangakkara Was Superbly Helped At The Other End By Chandimal Who Posted 67 Runs In A Partnership Of 130 Runs As Sri Lanca Went On To Post 356 Runs In Their First Innings. This In Reply To The New Zealanders First Innings Of 221, For A First Innings Lead Of 135 Over The BlackCaps. With The Test Now Balanced On A Knife Edge, The Advantage Had Now Shifted The Way Of Sri Lanca Going Into Day 3. Sri Lanca Had Everything To Play For And The Series Needed To Be Drawn / Saved.

In Retrospect Sri Lanca Will Be Left Wondering What The Heck Happened, Or How Could They Have Let It All Fall Apart? With Everything To Play For Going Into Day 3 Both New Zealand Openers, Hamish Rutherford And Tom Latham Started Well And Posted A Fair Partnership, But Then Gave Their Wickets Away To Pradeep. Rutherford For 40 And Latham For 35. But When Herath Took The Wicket Of Ross Taylor, New Zealand Were In Trouble At 79 For 3. Even So, New Zealand Whittled Away At The Deficit As Kane Williamson And Brendon McCullam Made It To Lunch With The BlackCaps At 96 For 3. New Zealand Would Continue Try And Steady Matters After Lunch On Day 3 Although They Would Lose A Further 2 Wickets. McCullum For 22 Falling To Prasad, And Neesham For 19 Falling To Pradeep. At Stumps On Day 3, New Zealand Were 253 For 5, Effectively With Only A Lead Of 118 Runs But With 5 Wickets Down And With Only Five Wickets Remaining To Build Any Kind Of Safe Lead To Defend Against A Highly Skilled Sri Lancan Batting Line Up. The Test Was Balanced On The Proverbial Knife Edge Going Into The 4th Day.

The Fourth Day Saw Some Awesome Batting, As Kane Williamson Went On To Score His First Double Century. He Posted An Unbeaten 242 Runs. He Too Had Ample Help At The Other End As His Team Mate Jimmy Neesham Also Built His Century Scoring An Unbeaten 142 Runs. Together They Set A New 6th Wicket Partnership Of 365 Runs And Finished Unbeaten As New Zealand Declared Their Innings Closed On 524 For 5. This Gave New Zealand A Lead Of 389 Runs Setting Sri Lanca A Not So Easy Target Of 390 Runs For Victory. At Stumps On Day 4, Sri Lanca Were 45 For 1 And Still Required A Further 345 Runs With Nine Wickets In Hand Ahead Of The Last Day.

The Faithful Had Witnessed An Incredible Turn Around By The BlackCaps On Day 4 Ahead Of The Final Day.

Day 5 Would See New Zealand Keen To Wrap This Test Up And Take The Series 2-0. This Would Mean That They Would Want To Break Through The Sri Lankan Top Order As Soon As Possible At The Start Of Day 5.

For Sri Lanka Resuming On 45 For 1 And Still Wanting Another 345 Runs To Win With 9 Wickets Remaining, The Task Although It Was Never Going To Be Easy, Was Not Impossible. They Could Also Choose To Stand And Defend Their Innings And Play For A Draw. But With A Target That Was Still Getable In A Days Play And A Win Needed To Square The Series, A Draw Was Not An Option So Going For The Win Was Always The Only Option.

Trent Boult Struck Early Dismissing Night Watchman Dhamicka For 6 Runs And Then Shortly Afterwards Got Rid Of Double Centurion Khumar Sangakkara.

Opening Batsman Silva, And Thirimanne Steadied The Slide, With Silva Posting His Half Century. But The Run Chase Was Slow. Eventually Silva Edged One And Was Caught Behind Of The Bowling Of Bracewell And At Lunch Sri Lanka Were Staring Down The Barrel At 115 For 5.

Thirimanne And Prasana Jayawardene Batted On Watchfully After Lunch. But After He Was Caught By Williamson For 10 Off The Bowling Of Craig Sri Lanka Were Reeling At 133 For 6. Chandimal Then Followed For 13, And Then Herath And With Sri Lanca Now 156 For 8 It Was Only A Matter Of Time As The Pressure Mounted And Suranga Lakmal Was Run Out Going After A Single That Was Never There While Thirimanne Batted Bravely On For His Half Century Eventually He Would Run Out Of Partners At The Other End As Sri Lanca Were Dismissed For 196.

New Zealand Won The Test By 193 Runs Taking The Series 2-0.

Celebrating The 2-0 Test Series Win Over Sri Lanca After Their 193 Run Win At The Basin Reserve In Wellington.

Celebrating The 2-0 Test Series Win Over Sri Lanca After Their 193 Run Win At The Basin Reserve In Wellington.

The Faithful At The Basin Had Seen The BlackCaps Complete The Turn Around. Infact, The Basin Reserve Almost Saw This Marvelous Cricketing Year Right From The Start. Commencing With That Marvelous Knock Which Saw Brendan McCullam Set A Record New Zealand Knock With His 302 Runs As New Zealand Took The Series Against India 1-0. Then The Away Successes In The West Indies And Pakistan And Then Returning Back To The Basin To See Further Milestones.

They Saw Sangakkara With 203 Move To Within One Double Century Of Sir Donald Bradman’s Record For The Most Double Centuries In A Career. They Saw A New Record 6th Wicket Partnership Set With 365 Runs Being Scored Between Kane Williamson 242 And Jimmy Neesham 142. In A Sense, The Year Of Cricketing Success Came Full Circle Home To The Basin Reserve In Wellington. Either Way You Care To Look At It, The Moments Are Fondly Memorable And None The Less So For Me.

The Series Win Now Sees The BlackCaps Start The Year 2015 On The Up, As They Climb Two Places In The ICC Test Rankings From 7th To 5th On The Table. They Displaced Both India And Sri Lanca, Who Were Ahead Of Them Until Now.

2014 / Jan 2015 Has Been A Great Year For New Zealand Cricket At The Basin With Many Fond Moments. I Particularly Wish That Awesome Ground Many, Many And Many More.
